1 Dies, 4 Hurt as Car Rams Pedestrians

Suryapet:A woman on Tuesday morning died and five others were injured when an over-speeding car rammed them at Madhavaram in Munagala mandal in the district.

The deceased was identified as Nallagonda Pitchamma, 48, a native of Madhavaram village in the mandal.

The incident took place when she and her son Naveen were going to their farmland on a TVS moped.

According to the police, the over-speeding car, which was going to Vijayanagarm from Hyderabad, rammed the TVS moped and four pedestrians.

Naveen, Yellapula Venkanna, Yellapula Madhu andManyam Lingaiah received injuries.

They were shifted to government general Hospital at Suryapet for treatment.

Negligent driving by the car driver was the reason for the mishap, police said.

Munagala police filed a case and took up investigation.
