On the other hand, former New Zealand team captain and veteran fast bowler Tim Southee has announced his retirement from Test cricket.

He will play his last Test series against England at his home ground Seddon Park in Hamilton in December.

Announcing his retirement, Southee said, “Representing New Zealand was everything I dreamed of as a child.

“Playing for New Zealand for 18 years has been my greatest honor and privilege, but now I feel it is time to step away from the game that has given me so much.
