NITI Aayog CEO visits Sri City, lauds its role in India’s industrial growth
Tirupati: BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog policy think tank, visited Sri City and attended an interactive session with CEOs and CXOs of various industrial units.
The session focused on the development and expansion of industrial clusters like Sri City.
Subrahmanyam described these as critical engines of job creation, regional development and sustainable economic growth.
Expressing his admiration, Subrahmanyam highlighted Sri City’s unique blend of global diversity.
“It is housing 220 industrial units from 30 different countries and employing 65,000 people in a pristine, ecologically balanced environment,” he noted.
Subrahmanyam praised the Sri City’s well-preserved lakes, describing them as vital for flood control and water conservation.
The CEO spoke about the nation’s economic trajectory.
He expressed optimism about the country’s potential to become a $30 trillion economy by 2047.
He attributed this projection to India’s young workforce and the forward-looking approach of the nation’s leadership.
The interactive session allowed CXOs to share their perspectives and challenges.
They stressed on skill development, talent retention and housing for industrial workers.
The visit began with a warm welcome from Sri City chairman Srini Raju and MD Ravindra Sannareddy.
They showcased Sri City’s unique features and its potential for contributing significantly to India’s industrial landscape.
They also sought NITI Aayog’s support in further enhancing Sri City’s impact as a model industrial hub for the nation’s economic development.
