Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Tanmay’s ton puts Hyderabad in control

Hyderabad: Tanmay Agarwal’s composed unbeaten 124 guided Hyderabad to a steady 244/5 against Andhra Pradesh on Day 1 of their Ranji Trophy Group B clash at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Batting with patience, Tanmay faced 240 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and a six, anchoring Hyderabad's innings after they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Abhirath Reddy contributed a solid 35 off 114 deliveries, and Kodimela Himateja added 36 off 54 balls with seven fours.

Andhra’s bowlers kept Hyderabad in check, Tripurana Vijay was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/85 in his 27 overs.

Yara Sandeep and Lalith Mohan picked up a wicket each.

Hyderabad’s innings progressed cautiously, reaching 244 for five at stumps, with the experienced Tanmay and wicketkeeper Rahul Radesh (22) looking to add valuable runs on Day 2.
